3’s Corner

My past experiences have found that the threes are not ready to discuss any of the historical aspects of the Thanksgiving holiday. Instead we will focus on people who care for us and why we are thankful – an equally difficult concept! On the 17th we will make corn muffins and butter. Ann will contact the parent helpers to let them know what to bring for snack.

We are trying a new nature program this year. Naturalist from Watkins Park will come on Thursday, November 10th for a 45 minute presentation. The program will be at 10:30. Parents and siblings are invited to come.

Written evaluations for the threes will be sent home the second week of November. Conferences will be held during the afternoon and evening Nov. 15th and 16th. If you would like to have an oral conference, a sign-up sheet will be on the front bulletin board beginning the second week of November. Each conference is 15 minutes long, please come without your children. Although this may be inconvenient, it can be difficult to discuss your child if they are present.

Now that Touch and Tell has begun, your child may bring in an item to share on their assigned day. Check the list on the front bulletin board if you are unsure of your child’s day. It often takes the threes awhile to become interested in this activity. Don’t be concerned if they don’t want to bring in anything to show on a regular basis. Again, please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns

Once again, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school or at home (410) 798-6612 or email me at tombarb.freeman@verizon.net.

Helpful Hints for School:

  • Class times are: 9:00-11:30am Tuesday and Thursdays.
  • You do not need any special school supplies.  We’ll provide a tote-bag (you’re welcome to use your own, the teachers prefer no backpacks!) at your class picnic.
  • Preschool can be messy! We would encourage you to send your kids in play clothes that you won’t mind getting messy.
  • Please no FLIP FLOPS.  They are not safe for the playground.
  • Remember to send an extra change of clothes in your child’s bag for the occasional accidents.
  • Refer to your parent helper guide (here) for ideas for snack and other helpful schedule information.
